Find Your Hidden Gem
An Invitation to Wonder. A Return to What Matters.
Some stories aren’t told—they’re remembered.
Find Your Hidden Gem is a love letter to family, nature, and the fleeting magic of being fully present. Commissioned by Nikon Canada, the film weaves together the quiet poetry of everyday life with the raw, childlike wonder that so often gets buried beneath the noise of adulthood.
Set against the mossy, rain-soaked landscapes of Vancouver Island, this short film follows Preston, Kristina, and their daughter Emerson as they step outside the cadence of productivity—and into a slower, more intentional rhythm. What begins as a simple antique-buying trip unfolds into something much more: a rediscovery of what matters most.
Why This Story Mattered
Because in a world obsessed with the next thing, Emerson reminded us to look closer. To walk slower. To find joy in the now.
From vintage shops to forest trails, every frame held a whisper of something bigger:
That life is lived in the in-between moments
That wonder is contagious
That presence is the real hidden gem
What This Film Says (Without Saying It)
That family is a rhythm, not a performance.
That rest can be sacred.
That sometimes, the best thing we can do—for ourselves, for each other, for our work—is to pause and look around.
Because the hidden gem?
It’s never the object.
It’s the moment.
And it’s already here.
